Great in the desert..
This adds very noticeable power to the 690. It also adds a lot of engine noise. I do not recommend this product for anyone using the 690 as an adventure bike or where it rains a lot. If you like intake sound and power, this is for you.

Junk.
Welds completely broke after a 100 mile trail ride…1 gallon rotopax gas can and top portion of rack fell-off in the dirt…. You be the judge…!

just works.
The extra range makes long tours fun. And it just disappears, no change I can feel in riding characteristics. Luggage rack an added bonus. Comment - I have installed the rear tank on my 690R and the rear passenger pegs are still on and usable One of the pics here even shows a rear peg in position.

Good Product, but......
Power? Incredible!!!! Rode in dust for four days, lots of dust over the filter: need to clean it up, but not a single dot of dust inside: Perhaps in same condidtion with paper do not need to clean. Noise?, I have to return on asphalt for 700 Km, at about 70 mph( because a leak in sprocket) and really got deaf: A lot of noise, wonderful in mountain roads at about 30 mph, lots of curves, accelerating, etc. On flat asphalt surface; got crazy. Trade off!!! think about it. Noise or power!!!
